Yikes - October already. Caught me a bit on the hop - finished my work contract and had a lovely first week off planned that became 3 days of having sick boys and sick self.
Now all recovered and in full creative mode - only 1 more week until our school hols!
September began like this (click any pic to see bigger)
I thought I would try and limit myself to just one word per day but that is harder than you might think - hard for me anyway!
I really loved my original backgrounds, but couldn't stop myself adding more.
The month is stitched and then rubbed over with a metallic green shiva stick. Stamped the flowers with metallic paints as a reminder of spring bulbs.
I have also stitched leaves as a reminder of all the new spring growth.
Since I want to focus on stitching this month I decided to encourage myself with that theme for October.
I began by gluing some old doll dress patterns to the background - liked that they are coloured to start with.
A friend very kindly lent me her cuttlebug to cut the dressmaker shape and I decided that embroidery floss bobbins were a good way to go for the journalling this month - they look like cotton reels don't you think? The letters for the month and days were stitched by machine to the coloured cards before being attached to the page.
Looking forward to sharing it complete at the end of the month.
