Christmas quilt

I have decided I want to make more quilts next year and decided why wait?  Take one applique pattern :
Shop your stash for suitable fabric
Trace onto fusible, cut and iron stick the applique pieces down
click on any photo to see it larger
Machine buttonhole stitch around the shapes - I used madeira metallic threads
Decide one lovely fabric rather than the original pieced border will be a good idea since there isn't much time left until Christmas....
Quilt as desired

    Your choice of fabric as always is lovely, especially with the addition of the metallic threads. The background quilting is stunning. Do you have a long arm quilter? I love the freely shaped hearts and koru slotted in too. Really beautiful.
