My pattern of creating is that mid-year I reassess what I'm doing and how I'm doing it.
Right now I'm trying to decide whether I want to keep blogging. There are a variety of reasons, and I'm definitely not stopping being creative, just not sure about continuing with this platform. I'll still be posting over on my FB artist pageand my Instagram account and I hope to see you there.
I decided I wanted to keep blogging and returned mid-July.
Another lesson in Wanderlust 2021 with our Poems & Quotes theme. This one was with Shawn Petite about finding your inspiration and story. She suggested we begin with a quote. This is a favourite and one I try to live by.
My true self loves a base layer of collage, upper layers of stencils with colours that make me happy, adding collage fodder from a previous wanderlust lesson and some gelli paper fun,
and washi tape to add some last dark finishing touches. This page became easy once I stopped thinking and just let myself be led my intuition.
I'm participating in Anne Brooke's weekly Tag challenge. You can view her demo each week on Youtube #52tagshannemade. Week 22 : Layers of lace. I have a lovely stash of lace inherited from my Great Grandmother. I thought I would just showcase a gorgeous bit instead of hiding it behind lots of other pieces. I began by machine stitching some lovely sari ribbon strips to my tag.
Then I hand stitched my chosen piece of lace to the sari ribbon with an extra layer of lace edging across the bottom and another tied at the top. Love seeing all the frayed bits at the sides.
Sometimes less is more 💜This link will take you to all of my posts about this challenge.
