Full Tilt Boogie journal is finally FULL!

It all started with Mary Ann Moss's Full Tilt Boogie class and I created my lovely book in September 2012.
I've shared my progress with you {sporadically} completing journal pages over the last 2 and a bit years! Many of them have been inspired by Kelly Kilmer (examples of her direct influence HERE and HERE). This was the first page:

and these are the 2 spreads that have finished it - base pages
And this is inside the back cover
In this progress shot, you can see how cool it is to use serviettes
- see the original serviette on the right, and how the pink background shows through when just the top layer is glued down
And the final page :
That's 91 pages complete - next time I make a journal, I'm going to make it with less pages!

Art journal pages 84-87

Wanting to get my Full Tilt Boogie journal finished before I get stuck into new art journals this year. You saw a glimpse of the next spread when I posted my Ta Dah! list. This progress shot shows the scale of these card pages in the middle of the final signature

The back of that small card finished up like this :
This paper serviette on my next page base is one of my favourites - I was given a few of them and this is almost the last of them.
I love Mucha's women
On the home stretch now...only 2 spreads to go! You can see all the Full Tilt Boogie journal pages in my Flickr Set

My word for 2015

HAPPY NEW YEAR - Wishing you lots of creative joy
I've had a word of the year since 2011. It's helps me be intentional as I move through my days. When I started thinking about this, I thought I was heading for an active word like "explore" or "grow"....but in the background I realised I've been thinking a lot about being "authentic" (in my art, in how I live), about "joy" and "being present" as well as self care - being "calm", and wanting to build on my gym habit with more healthy eating options, and more family walks on our days off together.
I highly recommend Susannah Conway's Free 5 day email class to find your word.
My Word for 2015 is NOURISH
It was a surprise, but it feels so right. When I got my fifth email and Susannah suggested creating a pinterest board of your word, I clicked on hers and it was Nourish! When I saw it, I knew my chosen word was right. Immediately my whole body relaxed and I felt "Yes" :-)
For me it encompasses all these words : Support - Encourage - Cultivate - Authentic - Care - Sustain - Feed - Strengthen - Natural - Delight - Mindful - Healthy - Develop - Body & Soul - Creative spirit - Pure - Nurture - Cherish - Grow - Wonder - Pleasure - Happiness.
My intentions for 2015 are to :
Nourish our bodies - prepare healthy food to give my family good energy to fuel active lives - continue my gym habit and celebrate what my body can do - doing more regular family walks on the weekend - and also making sure I have times to rest, some self-care
Nourish my relationships - being mindful of how I speak/react to my family and friends - to lift and support them - to delight and encourage them - to be present in the moment with them - to share joy - to cultivate friendships - to show love to my husband and boys.
Altered ornament
Nourish creativity - creating regularly - being authentic - learning new skills - sharing on my blog - creating gifts that nourish others
Nourish my mind - read - watch movies - listen to music - explore new ideas - keep a record of meaningful quotes and inspiring creative projects
Nourish my soul/spirit - intentionally notice ordinary beauty in my day - count my blessings - remind myself of how lucky I am - be present - share gratitude and wonder.

I choose NOURISH. What do you choose?

Art journal pages : 81-83

Back in my Full Tilt Boogie journal - I'm getting near the end and enjoying how these next pages turned out.
Love seeing the progress from base page to finished

I added machine zigzag stitching on the edge of this one, which also finishes the next page...bit of fun with rub-ons here
Next up a small card for the middle of the signature - mostly serviettes torn and glued down.
I'll be sharing the remaining pages and the finished journal in January. You can see all the Full Tilt Boogie journal pages in my Flickr Set

Art journal pages : 77-79

More progress in my Full Tilt Boogie journal. I am enjoying getting towards the end, and although sometimes I make myself work in it because I want to get this finished by the end of the year, I feel enthusiastic as the pages develop and happy with them when I'm done. This next page was from a book about chandeliers, and I didn't want to do to much to it....

I'd added some elements at some point to my next spread, so wasn't starting from scratch...sometimes that makes it harder though!
A fun way to use rub-ons is to give your image a tattoo
The facing page was also very colourful and had a postcard from a friend attached.
Only 12 to go....You can see all the Full Tilt Boogie journal pages in my Flickr Set

Art journal pages : 74-76

Another 3 pages in my Full Tilt Boogie journal.
I forgot to take progress shots for the left page : this is it complete below
click on any photo to see it larger
but I did take a photo of the items I used to finish the page when it just needed "something" : stencils and ink pad applied with cosmetic sponge
Remembered to take progress shots of the next pages
Sometimes Often found text is just the right touch for me to finish a page
I enjoyed the effect of pens on flowers so much on pages 64 and 73 that when I put in this gorgeous green gerbera, it had to receive similar treatment
Green Pen : Sakura Gell Roll Moonlight pen
And at other times, once the collaging is done, there's no need for words for me to feel the page is done :-)
Now those are completed I've only got 15 pages to go! You can see all the Full Tilt Boogie journal pages in my Flickr Set

Art journal pages : 68-73

Another series of pages from my Full Tilt Boogie journal. Been a bit of a gap since my last post, but feeling like I might achieve my deadline to finish it by the end of November.
Left page in progress - seen HERE

Next was a small card for the centre of the signature
Decided doodles could complete this without words.
These sweet children seemed made for this spread
This progress shot shows the scale of the card within this spread.
It's fun to stamp a word and then embellish it with a white pen.
Last spread to show you today began like this
I kept the card simple.
This time the words are rub-ons. It's fun to use different kinds of words/lettering in the journal. The next base came together quite easily
But it's the doodling with a fluro yellow gelly roll moonlight pen that makes me LOVE this page now it's finished
Hopefully I'll finish more in this journal soon. You can see all the Full Tilt Boogie journal pages in my Flickr Set
