Kiwi Summer Holiday snaps

We've been on holiday up north so thought I'd share some Lots(!) of photos of family and gorgeous New Zealand in the summertime. Click on any to enlarge, or scroll through quick! This is my record of our holiday - hopefully something in here to inspire you too.
Lake Te Ko Utu
We walked around this lake after lunch in Cambridge on our way to Auckland
Happy New Year!
Visited Arataki Visitor Centre on New Year's day :
Carving details provide inspiration for quilting or sketching
Gorgeous views and we were treated with perfect weather
My boys
Plus great details on the frame to inspire future creative work
Piha beach :
And from surf to the bush...
Then we travelled to Tauranga/Mt Maunganui, passing a great New Zealand icon on the way
In the town of Paeroa
Views from our walk around Mount Maunganui
Some Pohutukawa still in flower
We were home for a day and then we went camping - Waiinu Beach (north of Wanganui on the West Coast)
View from our tent
Home now and trying to catch up on your blogs, my email, Facebook, and new classes....more of that later. Hope you are staying warm and happy where you are.

  5. Love that coastline - aren't we so fortunate to have so much beauty so close by and so much empty space?

By the way - lovely baby, lovely quilt.

  6. Ahh Lake Te Koutu in Cambridge. We kids had to run around it for our primary school cross country so I know it well.
