Stitch*Bookery - the first book

I had some birthday money left over from June so when the latest class from Mary Ann Moss became available and I realised the timing couldn't be better (it's during our second hiatus month from Book of Days) I signed up.
A sweet friend had a birthday today so she's being gifted my first attempt. First to gather - I decided to mainly limit myself to black & white and her favourite colour bright blue. Doesn't look like I limited myself much!!
I decided to use wallpaper as the base (as a test of a cheaper option than the recommended watercolour paper) and it worked for me.
It's fun to use straight stitch or zigzag to attach paper to paper (sheet music below not stitched down so is a pocket for those tickets)
You can use fancy stitches if your machine has them (click on any photo to see it larger)
Free motion stitching also works
Add pockets for treasure
I had to include some of my favourite things : pretty paper serviettes
and found words
It's really fun to see the different views of pages alongside each other depending on how you fold it out
I'm hoping she'll add a few little bits herself to some the pages - even if just some birthday photos in some pockets.
I attached sari ribbon ties to the back for its closure...
It measures 5" x 7 1/2" (13 x 19 cm) so just fits in my hand.
I LOVED making this and I'm sure there'll be more...and that's just from Lesson One (4 weeks of lessons all up). Unfortunately enrolment's closed for this round, but she's running another session with registrations from late October if you like what I post about this class
